Artist Ran Longquan looks at a miniature carving with the help of a magnifying glass in his studio in Kunming City, the capital of Southwest China’s Yunnan Province, Sept. 12, 2017. Ran, 60, was born into a family of carpenter and developed an interest in art at a young age. He began working on miniature carving in the 1980s and has become a master at carving vivid sculptures out of grains of rice, nuts and hair.
