Beijing police detain 168 for illegal travel services
Beijing police have detained 168 people suspected of illegally providing travel services for visitors, the Municipal Public Security Bureau said on Sep.7.
The suspects, including four from a travel agency that used study tours to defraud visitors, were detained in a crackdown on illegal travel service providers, the bureau said in a statement.
The others were members of two groups offering one-day trip services in the capital.
The bureau urged residents to choose and sign contracts with qualified travel agencies to prevent being cheated.
The bureau also welcomed people to dial a hotline — 12345 — as well as 110 to report clues.
