Canton Fair Design Award selection to be collected in archives

A signing ceremony of cooperation memorandum on the inclusion of Canton Fair Design Award (CF Award) products into the Guangzhou Branch of the National Archives of Publications and Culture was held April 24 in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province.

CF Award selection is held once a year by Canton Fair, which aims to pick out cutting-edge products combining both design and business value at home and abroad. 

Up to now, the CF award has received a total of 14,870 entries, among which 1,051 products were awarded, said Chu Shijia, deputy director and secretary general of Canton Fair, and also head of the China Foreign Trade Center.

Chu said that the signing of the cooperation memorandum will assist in boosting industrial innovation and fostering new competitive edges in foreign trade.

Selected innovative products that are of cultural importance and suitable for long-term preservation will be stored in the national archives., said Zhang Weitao, deputy director of the National Archives of Publications and Culture and director of the Guangzhou branch. 

CF Award is open to products of seven categories, including electronics and household electrical appliances, building and home decor, industrial manufacturing, hardware and tools, household items and consumer goods, fashion life, and health and recreation.

The signing ceremony was co-hosted by the China Foreign Trade Centre Group, Ltd. and the Guangzhou Branch of the National Archives of Publications and Culture.
