China Southern Airlines soars with London Heathrow-Beijing Daxing Route Launch Event

China Southern Airlines, the first domestic carrier to open the London Heathrow-Beijing Daxing route, kicked off its new service with a spectacular inaugural flight, CZ673. It marked the beginning of this new service, establishing a vital air bridge between China and the United Kingdom.

The launch event was marked by grand departure and welcome ceremonies held at London Heathrow Airport and Beijing Daxing Airport, signifying the airline's commitment to fostering stronger ties between China and the United Kingdom.

Operating the route with the state-of-the-art Airbus A350, CZ673 accommodated a total of 253 passengers. The daily service departs from Beijing Daxing International Airport at 11:55am (Beijing time) and arrives at London Heathrow Airport at 15:45pm local time, boasting an estimated flight time of 10 hours and 50 minutes. The return journey departs from London Heathrow Airport at 22:30pm local time, reaching Beijing Daxing International Airport at 15:25pm Beijing time the following day, with an estimated flight duration of 9 hours and 55 minutes.

China Southern Airlines, a prominent base carrier at Beijing Daxing Airport, anticipates that the London Heathrow-Beijing Daxing route will invigorate Sino-UK relations and cooperation while fostering meaningful people-to-people exchanges between the two nations. China Southern Airlines has been a major player in the Sino-UK aviation market, previously offering direct routes from Guangzhou, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, and Sanya to the UK. Following the adjustment of pandemic prevention policies, the airline successfully resumed its daily Guangzhou to London service on April 10, 2023, facilitating seamless travel between China and the UK.
