Four students arrested under national security law in Hong Kong

Four students, three males and one female, were arrested on Wednesday afternoon for suspected offences under the national security law in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Senior Superintendent Li Kwai-wah confirmed.

The students, aged between 16 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of organizing and inciting secession.

It's the first time Hong Kong police initiated such arrest since the National Security Law took effect a month ago.

Li told reporters at a briefing that the four students were suspected of being involved in a newly established online group that advocated independence for Hong Kong.

Computers, phones, and documents were also seized, Li added.
