Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, inspected the reconstruction work at the areas affected by floods in Beijing and Hebei province.
Flood-hit places in North China's Hebei province have been making all-out efforts to accelerate post-disaster reconstruction work, to try and ensure students return to school as scheduled and businesses resume production as soon as possible.
Beijing has outlined a post-disaster reconstruction plan, aiming to achieve basic recovery in one year and comprehensive improvement in its response capacity in three years as well as long-term sustainable development, after torrential rainfall triggered by Typhoon Doksuri caused devastating floods in the capital.
Although the global supply chain has entered a new round of reconstruction, China is still an important investment destination for multinational companies around the world, said a report.
The province will make all out efforts to resume the basic order of life and work in the disaster areas by Wednesday and finish the reinforcement of school buildings by the end of November, ensuring all the students can go back to school.
