World's first 600km/h high-speed maglev train rolls off assembly line

A China-developed high-speed maglev train makes debut in Qingdao, Shandong Province on July 20, 2021. It has a designed top speed of 600 km per hour -- currently the fastest ground vehicle available globally. The project was launched in 2016 and finished the trial run on a test railway in Shanghai in 2020. The high-speed maglev train officially rolled off the assembly line after six months of joint test run. The vehicle applies normal magnetic levitation, a mature technological method that pulls up the train from the track by the electromagnetic suction. It marks the scientific and technological achievement in the field of rail transit, according to the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation.
