1st time in 30 years | Newly-established Environmental Resources Sector added to CPPCC members

As the China's annual Two Sessions approaches, the newly-established Environmental Resources Sector is also going to perform its duties on environmental protection and construction. And it is the first time that a new sector has been added into the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) since 1993. 

The 14th National Committee of the CPPCC consists of 2,172 members from 34 different sectors, which cover areas such as economy, agriculture, science and technology, etc. 

In terms of personnel composition, the 85 members in the new sector on environment and natural resources have backgrounds in various fields, including ecological environment, natural resources, marine, forestry and geology, etc, showing that the environmental protection and ecological civilization construction will continue to be a major focus for China.
