After engaging in cultural exchanges with China for nearly two decades, Alfons Labisch, a professor wtih Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf in Germany, looks forward to continuing his China story far into the future.

There are 2,593 pairs of sister schools between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, while nearly 100,000 university students and teachers from the special administrative regions have participated in exchange programs with the mainland.

The project, which reduces the university entrance requirements for those living rural areas, has led to the enrollment of more than 950,000 students over the past decade, said Wang Hui, director of the ministry's department of college students affairs.
