Located in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Taihu Lake is an important water source for 17 million residents in one of China's most densely populated and economically developed areas.

China's emphasis on constructing a modern industrial system and accelerating the development of new quality productive forces is expected to ensure the security of industrial and supply chains, advance new industrialization and inject fresh impetus into the country's high-quality economic development, political advisers and industry experts said.

The economic development of China is set to witness more favorable conditions than unfavorable ones, while the underlying trend of economic rebound and long-term growth remains unchanged, a national political adviser said.

China will continue to prioritize increasing the income of rural residents and preventing them from slipping into poverty this year, as their livelihood is closely tied to the nation's social and economic development, said senior officials.

 "European companies are not running for the exit. Instead, most of our member companies remain committed to the Chinese market," Jens Eskelund, president of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, told Xinhua in an exclusive interview.
