Guangdong's imports of electromechanical and energy products maintained double-digit growth since the beginning of the year, indicating a strong economic rebound and high domestic demand.

Of the international buyers, 120,000 were from countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, with 46,000 from member countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

During the 2024 New Year holiday, a bustling scene unfolded at Youyi Pass, also known as Friendship Pass, situated in the border city of Pingxiang in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as trucks from both China and Vietnam formed queues for customs clearance.

These days, workers of Heze Sanqing Food Co Ltd, a food processor based in Heze, East China's Shandong province, are busy unloading and loading unusually large amounts of goods. The firm produces 100,000 metric tons of canned fruits and vegetables per year, averaging about 274 tons a day.

A total of 112 companies from the RCEP member countries, such as Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Laos participated in the expo in Huaihua.
